One day in Budapest

This is exactly what happens with me when I'm home alone during winter break ... I found some photos from Budapest taken about 2 years ago. I spend there only one day so here I come with a post about it. If you are going to Hungary or even somewhere further away, it is worth to take a break and visit this city.

10:00 (because nobody likes getting up early)   We start our visiting on Chain Bridge in the town centre. The bridge over Danube river conects two parts Buda and Pest which form this city. For me it's a city symbol.

10:15    We take antique ride on Buda Hill Funicular (Budvari Siklo) or a walk to get to the Castle Hill. You can find there National Gallery or Royal Palace Historical Museum but the hill is every turist MUST SEE because of vievs from there (the upper photo is right from there). It is also worth to walk around the castle and admire piece of hingarian history.

11:00    We take a walk through the Old Town to the Fisherman's Bastion - a terrace in neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque style with a view to very uniqe Hungarian House of Parliment.

11:40   Next symbol of the city is Matthias Church, located next to Fisherman's Bastion, one of the biggest chorches in Hungary. We take a sightseenig tour into it.

12:10   It's lunch time and it's up to you where you eat but you can find some restaurants in Castle district.

14:30   We take a tram (No 41, 47 or 49) or a walk to the Gellert Hill  to see the bishop Gellert statue dominanting over Budapest.

15:00   Passing by The Citadel we head to the Statue of Liberty on the top of Gellert Hill. This statue presents a woman holding a palm tree leaf over her head. It's a symbol of Hungarian's liberation from the Nazi rule. She became the symbol of the Hungarian capital and I can not imagine Budapest city scape without Statue of Liberty.

16:00   It's the time when you can take a walk along Danube river or just have coffee admireing Budapest architecture around.

19:00   (this time is variable beacuse of the season) After sunset Budapest changes completly. By night it's magical and mysterious place with very romantic atmosphere. On the Pest side on Danube river there are many ships which can take you for an unforgetable trip. Such trip lasts mostly about half and hour but you can also find cruise with champagne or dinner.

That's all from me. I hope that you will find some time to visit Budapest, Hungarian capital city, for me one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.
